Medical Architecture is working with the Helen Rollason and YJS Charitable Trusts to deliver a new Centre which will provide support and complementary therapies to patients undergoing treatment for cancer.
Located in a former bank, utilitarian in its existing state, the concept is developed around providing a welcoming environment and clear flexible organisation of space within a modest budget. By rationalising the existing building’s complex configuration; introducing a social “heart” to the centre; improving the quality of natural daylight to provide an uplifting, and creating a new therapeutic landscape, the new centre will provide a calm oasis that can improve the quality of life to those undergoing a traumatic stage in their lives.
