This project redevelops the neo-natal mother and baby department at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The Claydon Wing was completely refurbished, providing the following modernised facilities:
- Delivery rooms and theatres. The 12 existing delivery rooms with shared WC facilities have been increased to 18 Labour, Delivery, Recovery and Postnatal (LRDP) rooms with en-suite facilities and one High Dependency ward. One theatre has been increased to 2 with recovery and staff areas.
- Special Care Baby Unit. The existing Unit has been increased from 12 to 27 cot Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit with staff facilities, parents' room and associated bereavement and on-call rooms.
- Outpatients department. The Outpatients department has been redesigned to be incorporated near the Claydon Wing.
- Wards. Wards have been reconfigured to incorporate more single rooms and single transitional care rooms in addition to the LRDP rooms provided.
