Medical Architecture have a long history of involvement in Primary Care, both in research and practical implementation. We have built a number of health centres and surgeries based on the individual planning principles included in HBN 46 General Medical Practice Premises and HBN 36 Local Healthcare Facilities, research that Medical Architecture were involved in when members of the Medical Architecture Research Unit (MARU).
Evolving funding strategies has led to LIFT initiatives representing a sizeable new market. We have worked on LIFT ventures in City and East London (shortlisted), Barking & Havering (preferred bidder) and Birmingham & Solihull (shortlisted). This included supporting both the NHS client in project definition and acting for the private sector.
