Sector: Masterplanning
Client: Durrow Management for Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust
Role: Consultant
Value: £60m
Status: Completed 2004

Working closely with the Trust, Medical Architecture produced a detailed development control plan for the site at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

The objectives of the DCP were:

  • A thorough analysis of the entire site and accommodation to determine a course of action
  • To establish an area of land for disposal to assist funding of new facilities
  • To achieve a consolidation of the hospital site and re-provide modern buildings fit for function

The DCP achieved:

  • New facilities proposed to reflect the changing face of Health Services Delivery within the Trust
  • A consolidated hospital site
  • A site that allows for future expansion
  • A similar hospital floor area to that at present
  • A 4-stage development programme over 6-8 years to achieve this goal.
