Stoke Mandeville Hospital provides a comprehensive range of acute hospital services. The Mandeville Wing is the base for specialist Ophthalmology, Burns and Plastics and the highly respected National Spinal Injuries unit. This project relocates services from outdated accommodation to an innovative new facility improving links with the other main hospital buildings.
Shared and time managed accommodation was introduced to the department leading to a 20% reduction in floor area. An innovative approach of flexible programming and efficient management of facilities resulted in releasing clinical space to neighbouring departments and maximising room occupancy.
